You must be the owner, related to the owner or employed by the owner but I don't believe you make this many trips around central Texas, daily. Likely, sit at a desk and post all these gas prices.

But, what or however you do it (?). I just wish you would quit undercutting some of the stations posted price by a penny. If a discount, please note it!

Sorry to butt in Austin...

Problem with closing on the sale of a house, Chris, is you have to sell it to someone first. And that generally requires that they offer to buy it from you in the first place. We haven't had an offer yet.

Every time you post to it, Chris, it comes to the top. If you leave it alone, it'll eventually go away.

Oh, and as far as I know, Thag and THG aren't the same person.

In that case - you're a baby boomer as well and may appreciate this - 63 classic.

I did a SE Asia tour in 67 - maybe our paths had crossed long before now...

Ur Welcome L2J, I don't frequent that particular thread. That's why I sent the congrats on 1 of ur Topics. As for crossing paths we did that quite often. I don't get in that part of town like I used to. Maybe twice a month. I let the Price of Gas slow my gallivanting down to somewhat of a crawl. I don't frequent the VA or my ole Nam Buddy as much either. Well Good weather is predicted so You should get quite a bit of fun out of your New Ride. I kinda like the New BMW hardtop convertibles but, I might be moving out of country so got to put that on Hold. CPR53 comes accross as a good person you might want to converse with him he's a Native. Enjoy your new ~~RED CONVERTIBLE~~ o;-}

Staying with the subject......Afternoon All~~~ (hope I got that right) :)

Thanks gmanc; I still commute thru Austin daily, as I recall we used to cross paths occasionally around Metropolis/Oltorf area. Don't work in area any longer, payroll problems...belt tightening is one thing, charitable service is quite another. I still check in around here trying to keep up with my buddy forrest!

A classic dealership has my convertible in stock - kinda pricey so thought I would maybe check his mid-night special$$ - I would post a picture but I'm not able to pull in link due to firewall here - I'll drop my ride unto VRRoom's topic "new convertible in Austin" tomorrow.

That was an old question. (Actually it was the Attic) LOL
On the Home page if you scroll down Area, (Located in Search for gas prices). You will note Creedmore is now listed there. It may have been there before too, don't know. At the time, the answer I got worked.
So it is not a S. East Austin location nor would it be a Texas post. I reckon the Mods have to draw the line somewhere. I'm sure they can and do use an eraser when its warranted/ convenient. ;-)

Hope you got all your supplies in one trip. Even though the prices seem to have shifted. They are still not giving the Gas away..

After gmanc rummmaged thru the basement, I noticed a question on 12/29/05 that was not answered.
Creedmore would be listed under "other area" just like I have do for Cedar Creek.
Not Austin-SE.
It's actually closer to Lockhart which is not Austin area but on the Texas site.
I had a place in Litton Springs(close to Creedmore) & we drove to Lockhart for supplies.

I agree L2J -- prices need to be accurate. If you are seeing wrong stuff out there in Marble then a complaint is definitely in order. Wrong prices would indicate that my opinion is wrong about Chad being or working for a distributor. If he has inside info and it is always right I can see us shrugging about it. Maybe ye olde moderator got his attention?

Not sure, snowedin2005. It's been quite a while since I stopped in there. It's not a normal stop for me at all anymore. I think we stopped last after the new stores opened, but I didn't notice if that store was closed already. Since we moved north of the river about 15 years ago, we rarely get back south, except to Barton Creek Square or Zilker.

You're referring to the Sam's just north of Stassney, right? What you describe may have changed (I'm guessing here--I never shop at that Sam's), since they have closed that Wal-Mart in favor of the Ben White Supercenter.

Oh no, is THG that good?

Gas posts (the ones I've been watching) are exactly 4hrs apart and on the minute 0702, 1102, 1502, 1902, (I've gone to bed, don't see 2302) - nobody can be manually this accurate must have a program doing his updates/posts - all I need to do is find where he lives and unplug the puter!

Creedmoor's hella down there. SE Austin is what I'm thinking, as well. Actually, is it on the east or west side of 35? Because if it's on the east, then SE Austin, west, keep it in South Austin.

Where would Creedmoor Stations be posted? They have about two stations that I am aware of.
S.E. Austin ?!!
It's located in the vicinity of 183 S. and FM 1327.

I'm sure everyone new that. That is, if they travel that area.
Let me thank you in advance.

Thanks for trying to clarify that. It was kind of confusing to me, and it seems with reason! South I35 Sam's/Walmart sounds kinda like the wheel of fortune, take a spin and see what your discount is, if any..... :-)

Sonwise, gmanc:

The Sam's on south I-35 is different, I think, because it is also a WalMart. There are several discounts available, depending on whether you have a Sam's card, a WalMart Discover or Shopping card, or both. Like the MurphyUSA stations, you can buy without either card, but get a 3 cent discount with the WalMart card(s). With a Sam's card, last time I was there, you got 4 cents. If you had both, you got 7 cents discount.

TBW; I would only like thg to post accurate prices! I've not seen any problem with his gas posts in Austin - but rural areas - especially Marble Falls, he consistently undercuts by 1 penny, when he undercuts by 4cents, the station drops the price within 24-30hrs by 3cents. I see that store 2-3 times every day. All I would like is accuracy and I am this close =\ to filing a complaint and why I'm using your forum to hopefully get his attention. Just get it right!

Yeah we concluded long ago that there is no way Chad does that much driving. I think he is or works for the distributor. Not even asking about the Harmony dispensers (Hey Chad topic) gets his attention.

We have not heard any significant occurance of false prices from Chad. Have seen this "with $3 purchase in C-store" garbage and as far as I am concerned those are fair game. We require street prices not junk. I think he does read what we write about him and that if we gripe about bad behaviour he will adjust. Thus far I have seen nothing warranting any complaint to ye olde moderator.

Wow, thanks! That's news to me. I'll have to check with the Sam's near me (360/183) and see what their policy is now. In the past, you had to have a Sam's membership. Are you saying that you can buy gas there without a Sam's membership? Is it the Sam's membership card that now get's the additional discount or do mean a Sam's charge card is needed (in addition to membership?) to get the extra cents off?

Sonwise
Actually at the Sam's just North of Stassney on the N.access road you don't need a Sam's card to buy the gas. A charge card (Visa,master,etc)is required as the station is not manned with someone to take cash. If you use the Sam's card you pay a few cents less. I think it's 3 cents less.

At the SuperWalmart on Slaughter the gas machine will not recognize the Sam's card. They do discount the fuel 3 cents off the posted price when You use their Walmart Discover card. I only am aware of this as I have been there and done that. I used to think Sam's Walmart same but not at the pumps. You can pay cash or charge, that station is manned with the regular convenience store things. I post the non discounted amount asked without the card. They have signs posted on how to save a few cents with their cards.
That's quite an impressive ammount of points u racked up in the past 12 months. I've only been contributing for about 2 months.

I'm sure that Chad knows a card is required. Where such cards are required, the price to post is the non-discounted price. A discount can then be noted in parentheses without affecting the duplicate finder. Also, Sam's does not offer any further discounts with a card ... you must have a Sam's card just to buy the gas at all from them at the posted price.

It's an honest mistake. Sometime to post a price and not realize u needed a card to get the discounted price. I'm sure we all do my best not to. There's a place, Phillips 66 on S. Lamar that I thought had a lower than most prices till I saw the other sign and the price w/o the discount card. Later that same day.

All Sam's & SuperWalmarts with stations give about a 3 cent discount with use of their cards too. I'm sure u were aware of it but some people are not.

I never thought I could remember so many stations prices w/o pen & paper.

Well maybe I got his attention...he is now undercutting by 4cents...or is it just to have the lowest on display?

Whatever, I couldn't care less, I'd just like to see some accuracy on his posts. From what I've seen around Austin he is right on - possibly because he would get alot more flake than from the smaller rural areas.

OTOH...

I wasn't complaining or at least I didn't mean to sound like I was. It was nice to see others saw a pattern. As for the Major Brand stations their the cheapest stations in the area right now. I would rather pay a small striving station than a money hungry big one. Bottom line if its not out of my way and its the cheapest I go for it big or small station.

I think u might be right about the family. I went by and noted one of the stations and posted it behind him by 1 Hour. His post remained. I went back an hour later and he reposted the $1.99 station. Mine was erased. I re posted it again just to see again.

Thanks VRRoom;

I've seen his postings (3-4 times/day) from Lampasas to Bastrop, Georgetown to San Marcos. Can't be doing all that much driving so figure he is steering a mouse. Read a post recently that many of the major brand stations, a few BP and possibly others are owned by one family, THG must be in the family or employed by them, trying for a little free advertising. Just trying to get his attention - he consistently undercuts a Marble Falls major brand by .01, your probably right whatever source he/she is looking at maybe wrong.

No problem, L2J. But don't expect much from this. Chad (aka thg) doesn't participate in the forums. He has exactly 1 post:
Chad = thg

I can say that we've not caught him in any significant errors, so it's likely that his source is the problem. He has a fairly consistent set of stations he posts, particularly Major Brand and BP.
