I don't know how many people have tried this or have been eating it for some time. I just started buying it roughly a month ago and I'm hooked. It's a little more expensive, but I think it's worth it. Especially, if you're one trying to avoid ice cream. Greek yogurt is thicker and it's my ice cream substitute which offers more protein and is better for you. I eat the Dannon brand as well as the Chobani brand. Each brand offers flavors that I love. For example, Key Lime from Dannon is excellent and Pineapple made by Chobani is up there.

The local CBS affiliate was supposed to have a story on the 'healthiness' of greek yogurt but when I tuned in I just caught the last few seconds and the banter before the weather :( I tried looking it up but either it was too new to be on the local news website or they recycled a report from a sister station in May. Greek yogurt is thicker and has more protein because the whey is strained out. (Although mine still have liquid on top sometimes) I usually stick to vanilla or honey and its sort of like a less bitter sour cream...I really prefer it that thick! I try to get 0% (fat free) but some of the Chobani ones have really different 2% flavors, such as the pineapple or mango. Stonyfield Oikos is different from Dannon Oikos, which I found out the hard way when the cherry Dannon Oikos burned like the benzene from marachino cherries. I guess I will be sticking to the Chobani cherry but that gets sold out a lot at the dairy aisle here.
