“THERE were bodies everywhere, and we could not recognize where our house used to be,” said a Sri Lankan man after a tsunami destroyed his village in December 2004. In an article on the disaster, a religion editor said that he sometimes finds himself “praying through clenched teeth.”

Global Warming Is Planet Earth in Peril?

Climate Modeling

If earth’s temperature is rising—no matter what the cause or causes—how will it affect us and the environment? Precise predictions are hard to make. Nowadays, though, scientists have access to powerful computers, which they use to create digital simulations of the climate system. Incorporated into their models are the laws of physics, climate data, and natural phenomena that influence climate.

Simulations enable scientists to experiment with climate in ways that are otherwise impossible. For instance, they can “change” solar output to see how this affects polar ice, air and sea temperatures, evaporation rates, atmospheric pressure, cloud formation, wind, and rainfall. They can “create” volcanic eruptions and examine the effects of volcanic dust on weather. And they can examine the effects of human population growth, deforestation, land use, changes in the emission of greenhouse gases, and so on. Scientists hope that their models will progressively become more accurate and reliable.

Jehovah does not shatter lives but he gives hope...he is the God of salvation. When Jehovah uses the forces of nature to destroy...he gives ample warning and a way out. Just as he laid out his plan of salvation in Noah's Day...people could see the Ark in plain site. Noah did not hide what God was about to do. Jehovah likewise gives warning about the end of this system and it is not hard to see who is obeying the message to preach the good news of the kingdom as recorded at Matthew 24:14. People had the choice then with Noah and they have a choice now...it is as plain as the noses on people's faces. The Bible even gives warning about mistreatment of those bearing the good news as Jesus will destroy those from his heavenly position in heaven who mistreat God's people...this scripture is in Thessalonians.

Disasters that are natural are from men destroying the earth as they keep bombing and pounding the earth...trashing it with pollutants. The daily bombing in the middle east could not possibly be good for the earth...some are surely praying for Diving intervention.

The link is a guide to good reasoning on this subject...it is consoling to the depressed souls....what did you enjoy about the link?

Hi mariachitesoro

I find your question heart moving as I once asked this question myself as I studied with the Faithful and Discreet Slave class. (Matthew 24:45-47; Luke 12:42-44)

"And the Lord said: “Who really is the faithful steward, the discreet one, whom his master will appoint over his body of attendants to keep giving them their measure of food supplies at the proper time? 43 Happy is that slave, if his master on arriving finds him doing so! 44 I tell YOU truthfully, He will appoint him over all his belongings."-Luke 12:42-44.

Do you believe that today's text, written by a penman of this Faithful Steward, happens to answer your question from God's viewpoint as told us in the Bible and as Martini58 expounds on. See here:

Text for Wednesday, April 08, 2009

"All [Jehovah’s] ways are justice."—Deuteronomy 32:4.

Since “through one man [Adam] sin entered into the world” and “the wages sin pays is death,” all humans are deserving of death. (Romans 5:12; 6:23) How grateful we can be that Jehovah shows mercy when rendering judgment! However, we must be careful not to presume upon God’s mercy. In granting mercy, God does not ignore his perfect standards of justice. The mercy that Jehovah shows us by making possible our release from the penalty of inherited sin is in accord with his justice. To make possible the forgiveness of sin without the violation of justice, Jehovah has provided the ransom sacrifice of his Son, Jesus Christ—the greatest expression of mercy ever shown.—Matthew 20:28; Romans 6:22, 23.

Why can't Jehovah deal with Adam and Eve. They are the ones who disobeyed Jehovah. Not us. Why take it out on us?? That is not fair and just. You say HE is fair and just. So, why create viruses that feed on us and kill us? Who in their right mind creates something and then creates something else to the detriment of the first creation??

Is God Responsible?
“GOD is love,” states the Bible. (1 John 4:8) He is also just and merciful. “The Rock, perfect is his activity, for all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness, with whom there is no injustice; righteous and upright is he.”—Deuteronomy 32:4.

As Creator, Jehovah God has the ability to foresee all potential causes of harm, and he has the power to intercede. In view of these facts and the qualities attributed to God in the Bible, many rightly ask, “Why does God allow natural disasters to occur?”* As millions of sincere inquirers have found, God himself has provided a most reasonable answer in his written Word. (2 Timothy 3:16) Please consider the following.

They Rejected God’s Love
The Bible tells us that God gave our original parents all they needed to enjoy a happy and safe life. Furthermore, as they and their offspring obeyed God’s command to “be fruitful and become many and fill the earth,” the growing human family could count on God’s ongoing care.—Genesis 1:28.

Sadly, though, Adam and Eve deliberately turned their backs on their Creator by willfully disobeying him and choosing a course of independence from him. (Genesis 1:28; 3:1-6) By far the majority of their descendants have followed in their footsteps. (Genesis 6:5, 6, 11, 12) In short, humankind as a whole have chosen to be masters of themselves and of their home, the earth, without any guidance from God. Being a God of love who respects the principle of free will, Jehovah does not force his sovereignty on humans, even though their course may lead to harm.#

Nevertheless, Jehovah did not abandon the human family. To this day “he makes his sun rise upon wicked people and good and makes it rain upon righteous people and unrighteous.” (Matthew 5:45) Additionally, God gave mankind the ability to learn about the earth and its cycles, and to varying degrees this knowledge has enabled humans to predict extreme weather and other potential dangers, such as volcanic eruptions.

Humans have also discovered which parts of the earth are more prone to seismic or atmospheric extremes. In some lands this knowledge has helped to save lives through education as well as the development of better construction methods and warning systems. Still, the number of natural disasters reported annually has been rising steadily. The reasons for this are many and complex.

First six paragraphs published by Jehovah's Witnesses/ Watch Tower Bible and Tract SocietyMankind has increasingly polluted the earth...he sets off bombs daily and people wonder why there are earthquakes. Why, the very earth has taken a horrible pounding by mankind himself...why should people blame these things on Jehovah???

Mankind is reaping what he has sown, and he has sown the whirlwind! It is any wonder that anyone would have to wonder about the problems when pollution from factories, spills of oil into the oceans, and dumping of waste wherever they find the convenient spot...why should anyone blame God when disasters happen??? Not to mention, the causes of Global warming and how 'change' is imminent for disaster relief! Is greedy mankind willing to change and what does history relate to us on those issues???

History relates abuse after abuse and continued abuse...knowing that certain chemicals are harming the planet...do these stop production? Whenever men have found anything interfering with his paycheck, he is willing to compromise his beliefs, instead of looking for alternatives. Sadly, his millions of Dollars are more important to him than the planet that he lives on. Just a little bit won't hurt as long as the big bucks come rolling in...this money beclouds his moral integrity! In this case, Money truly is the root of all sorts of Evil! Rev 11:18

Jehovah is going to bring to ruin those ruining the earth! Jehovah's people will have to clean the tattered planet up and give her rest from her beating. No longer will planet earth be subject to abuse...what a wonderful day that will be!!!
