I rarely take it and whenever I have the chance I drive out of my way to avoid it just out of principle. I don't think there should be a toll to use that bridge.

I have a transponder when I have to use the toll roads. You get some discount when using the transponder. I have my GPS set to avod toll roads.

John_T1 Champion Author Toronto Posts:13,925 Points:2,780,015 Joined:Dec 2004	Message Posted: Jun 20, 2012 11:02:56 PM Ignore John_T1 Report Abuse The only toll road I know of in Ontario is Hwy 407, which I avoid because a) the tolls are very high and b) it was meant to be a Hwy 401 bypass with tolls only for the first decade or so to pay for construction of the highway but was instead leased to a private consortium of companies for 99 friggin years to balance the provincial budget. Thankfully I live nowhere near it, so boycotting it should be easy.

The only one here is the 407 & at $1000/km (slight exaggeration, but not much) I keep clear of it. When I cross the border at Buffalo to go to FL I drive the I-90 toll highway about 70 miles from Buffalo to the PA line & it costs around $3. Then there is another toll area on I-77 in WV which costs about $2. So unless I'm driving to FL I'm 100% toll free.
