That is some achievement. Perhaps the Chrysler Corporation is finding some answers too get into the conditions of today.
How long will they stay in this condition is another question.

DIRTY LITTLE SECRET!! The sub-prime loan for autos was a bigger factor in the financial downturn four years ago than the sub-prime real estate loans. GUESS WHAT? How do you think so many are getting auto loans now? BINGO! Sub prime auto loans! Deja vu all over again!!!!!

I guess it was easier for Chrysler to post these higher gains after their earlier sales were so poor.

"Unfortunately the Dodge Dart and Chevy Spark are made in South Korea."
Fortunately the Dodge Dart is manufactured in Belvidere, IL.

Cash for clunkers drained demand for a year, now it's back but still far below the normal 20m vehicles per year before the economy took a dive.

Probably will never own another Chrysler product. In 1997, We bought a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup and a Grand Caravan, brand new, at the same time from the same dealership. Over the next 10 years, both vehicles had exactly the same problems, within 3 months of each other. Oil pumps, alternators, Air conditioning leaks, Drivers side electric windows falling into the door. All in sequence. Sometimes it would be the truck first, other times the van first, but always the other would happen within 3 months of the other.
Plastic stuff breaking everywhere.
Nope, not again.
